aloha!

We just arrived home from our first family vacation to Hawaii. Much fun was had and many, many lessons were learned.

Fourth of July was spent hunting for diapers all over town (apparently Swaddlers size 1 are in short supply in Honolulu). We also got supplies and snacks while we were out and about. We hoped to finish off the day with fireworks, but fireworks at 8:30 Hawaii time meant all three of us were up until 11:30 California time. Summer was not happy about this. So, we rushed back to our condo just in time to see some fireworks through the rain from our condo overlooking the beach.

We spent the rest of our days enjoying breakfast in our beautiful condo with an ocean view with Summer enjoying the fresh Hawaiian breeze, then we headed out to different beaches around the island, then lunch, a little walking around, and finally bedtime for Summer at 5pm. Mommy and daddy finished off our days with a glass of wine watching the sun set from our balcony on the 35th floor.

Some things we learned about Summer:
- when she is tired she most definitely has a different cry than her hungry cry.
- she loves the wind.
- she doesn't really like the stroller as much as she loves being carried.
- if she's tired, she doesn't really just fall asleep (or maybe we learned this).
- she likes to keep moving (in the car, in the stroller, in the Baby Bjorn)

Overall, we had a fantastic time, but all three of us are definitely more exhausted than before we left. Now we get to catch up on some much needed rest. (We all slept 12 hours last night!!)
