Becoming a Girl

It seems impossible to keep up with this girl. Everyday she makes an amazing leap in her learning, blowing our minds on a daily basis.

Here's some of Summer's newest and greatest at 10.5 months of age:
  • She regularly greets people and says bye to them, including waving.
  • She cruises along the couch and coffee table switching between both and can stand suspended between the two for several seconds. She also likes to pick things up off the floor and put them on the coffee table.
  • She sits from standing by putting her hand on the ground for support!
  • She stands from crawling using the window sill for support and stands at the window and stares at the cars driving by.
  • She scrunches up her nose on cue.
  • Summer loves birds (coo-coos) and will find and point out birds and airplanes.
  • She loves crawling all over the house and playing chase with intermittent tickling.
  • She can open cabinets and loves playing with pop-up toys, magnets, musical toys, and putting things away in containers.
  • She loves to say "Ni-ni" to the pictures on the wall before going to bed.
  • Summer loves to self-feed, especially when bread is involved. (Sometimes, when we sneak other things on to the bread such as bread soaked in squash soup, she will pick all vegetable contaminated parts off and resume eating the bread. ) But, on a regular basis she won't be picky.
  • She can indicate that she's done eating by saying, "Done" and that she wants water by saying "Aou" (water in Farsi).
  • She continues to love to read/look at books, with a few current favorites that involve animal sounds.
  • This list could be very possibly endless..........

13) Dog barking, pronouced "Wow wow"
14) Baby, pronounced "Baba"
