Daycare Update

This week, Summer started at a new daycare. We had been prepared to make this decision and have, for so long, heard such good things about this daycare. However, our instincts as parents kept us at bay as she would be in an "official" daycare setting... which as many know is far from a homey environment. This is mainly because they are not in anyone's home, it's a portable.

However, knowing that we needed to make the decision we needed to make, we were loaded with critical and nitpicky questions. The director handled every question amazingly and answered every question just as we wanted it answered. So, we planned for the switch.

She began on Monday and was quick to adjust as everything was new. She kissed us goodbye, played hard and well with her new friends, ate well, and even slept for an hour.

Tuesday was a different story. I had a hard time dropping her off as she didn't want me to leave. Tears were shed by both of us. She hadn't slept well that night, had trouble getting started, hardly napped, but still ate well.

Today, she also didn't want us to leave. However, when we picked her up, she had slept well, ate well, played well, and even said she wanted to play with her friends tomorrow! Yay! We're making progress!

The reality is: she's a social butterfly and she loves being around so many new friends, but she's human and she needs time to adjust. Every day is getting easier for her, which then makes it easier for us.
