Happy New Year

2009 was an amazing year. We experienced one of the most thrilling, exhausting, humbling, and purely blissful experiences of our life together with the birth of our most beautiful daughter. She has rewritten our history and is giving us a whole new definition of love. 2009 was truly awesome; thank you, Summer.

The year couldn't have ended on a better note, as the past two weeks have allowed the three of us to do what we do best: travel and hang out. We traveled down south, and Summer went along for the ride like a natural globetrotter.

When we returned, our little baby showed us that she is not a baby any longer; she is a little girl. She started crawling in her bed, with a firm/soft surface and something to push off from makes a girl move easier. Also, she likes to eat what we eat. She will eat any of her pureed food until she sees a slice of bread or some rice somewhere on the horizon. She is chewing and swallowing her food to the likes of a 1-year-old. She'd rather feed herself, but when she cannot, she'd rather you feed her sans utensil.

As she gets older, her personality really shines. She is such a happy, smiley girl. She loves dogs and children, but is open to the experience of meeting new animals. She needs constant stimulation and is incredibly active. A party animal at heart, when there is something going on, she will not be found sleeping or otherwise missing out. She loves to socialize and meet new people. She enjoys foods with flavor (spices) and rice/bread/grains over all other food groups. Over all else, she still prefers to nurse. She has a truly independent spirit, a joyful soul, and an incredibly loving heart. There is no way to capture her truly sublime nature in words, as Summer can really only be experienced.... and experience we will as we continue this lovefest through 2010.
